My belief that nature guides and soul drives is very well said by Michelle Obama, and I quote her:
“The Arts are not just a nice thing to have or to do if there is free time or if one can afford it. Rather, paintings and poetry, music and fashion, design and dialogue, they all define who we are as a people and provide an account of our history for the next generation.”
I and the artists are not just creating beautiful art, but each piece is a part of us and an interpretation of the world and nature through our eyes after being processed through our mind, heart and soul.
As I say and believe “nature guides and soul drives” shows through every piece of art work I put out. My paintings, glass-work, photography and my lace work is a reflection of me.
Recently, I have been working with crushed glass to form beautiful, individual pieces. Fusing layers of crushed glass adds layers and depth to the pieces. In some pieces, depending on the firing schedule, a beautiful underlay of lace is formed. I like that each of my pieces commands its own respect, sings its own glory and tells its own story.
